Satul Plop, raionul Donduşeni, e cunoscut de secole prin izvoarele cu apă minerală. Statul a luat sub ocrotirea sa 24 de izvoare din partea locului. Oamenii care trăiaec în acest sat au grijă de izvoare, fiind susţinuţi de primărie. Doar ele se află într-un loc pitoresc a rîului Cubolta de unde a ţîşnit apa cristalină.
În rîu, desigur, apa nu e atît de curată ca în izvoare. De-a lungul rîului Cubolta trăiesc mulţi gospopdari nepăsători, care aruncă gunoaie de tot felul, ele fiind înghițite de rîul, care îşi pierde din frumuseţea fermecătoare. Potrivit obiceiului creştinesc izvorul a fost sfinţit.
